Why do women like yaoi
After careful calculations and over hours of research I may have found the answer: It is kinda cute and hot. Swagernator said: Seiya said: Lol, how exactly did I "destroy" your post? Why do females like shipping non-gay characters? I also ship most of my favorite female characters with other females who aren't even into girls.

Seiya its still new to me man i can barely breathe now, go easy on me, it's like when you learn truth about Santa Claus the whole world shattered before your eyes. It's all just a cover-up for their intense infatuation with girls, mate.
Think about it, if you're a lesbian, and into the gay, but you don't want to let other people know, BL is a lot easier to explain than GL, right? They're all a bunch of tsunderes is all :D. It's because of the natural laws of nature.
I ship anything that has chemistry and I don't care if it's straight or homosexual. However, due to the fact I tend to watch more series that are predominantly male cast I tend to ship more mlm couples than straight or wlw. You are sexually attracted to males.
Males are good. Double the males, double the good. It's not fucking hard to figure out. As for why a lesbian likes yaoi, I don't know. I've only ever met one lesbian online. It was the verecund, dismissed creatures That I jubilated in most.
This rabbit I would nurture, At the aiguille of esse, The anneal of noblesse. Swagernator said: Seiya its still new to me man i can barely breathe now, go easy on me, it's like when you learn truth about Santa Claus the whole world shattered before your eyes.
It's because yaoi fangirls are cancer. I would guess that they are sexually attracted to male characters but not female characters. So they only want to see male characters together. SkyFullOfStars said: maybe the yaoi fangirls don't really like the female character the original MC was shipped with in the show let's ignore sports anime.
I'm a girl and I don't like yaoi shippings I don't even understand that logic. Mkim said: It's because of the natural laws of nature. Opfert eure Herzen. Because some pairs are just cute together, they look cute together, you like them both as characters and you like their chemistry.
Most of those couples I like are straight there are also more hints on straight pairings and some are not? Most are canon or almost canon and some are "crackships". One reason was jealousy, like: "there is no girl in it and the female audience is more jealous of the girl", "female audience is insecure of themselves etc They are fictive. Getting jealous of a fictive girl, because of an anime character, rly?
XD Maybe if you are 14 and actually insecure, but almost every teenager on earth is insecure, think. What's their point? Because straight girls are sexually attracted to men so two men doing dirty things to each other is appealing to them. If they are open and dirty minded enough, super horny and discover yaoi, they turn in to fujoshi. I guess its the same reason as to why men like Yuri and hentai. And then yaoi came along, filling this need. Absolutely love this Ray!
I mean two hot guys together in a story stock full of drama, romance and action? Wanting to escape traditional gender roles in romance. My sexual preference is a big dominant man so I always see myself in the submissive male character in the story. They are very clear, rough and straight forward with their needs and preferences that I find very atractive. The sex really turn me on. When he found out I read yaoi he was surprised, but he has come around.
Both him and my Mom raised us in a pretty open environment. My father has collected erotic art all my life. I even make some of the pieces in his collection now. Playboy, R rated and even as we got older X rated movies were not hidden from us.
I know my Dad has a strong preference for ff. He found out I read yaoi when he was visiting me and a shipment of manga arrived. He then reminded my Dad that both of them watch ff porn…my husband borrows a lot fom my Dad.
I spend about a quarter of the year living with my parents so I get a lot of shipments of books plus my monthly magazine subscription from Akadot Retail while there. My Mom loves helping me unpack the boxes.
She thinks the art is fantastic. One reason is probably the double helping of gorgeous guys. I also love reading slash. Why do I like yaoi? Because I do. Just like I know I like science fiction and fantasy or I know I like a song when I first hear it or see a piece of art I like. The one sad thing is knowing I have to be careful who I let know that I like yaoi.
If I ever get cured and can teach again it would be disastrous if my love of yaoi were known. Even though I do not read Shota and that reading yaoi is legal I know if it came out in my professional life it would not take long for there to be some reason to fire me. I started reading yaoi about 5 years ago so I have been lucky to have found it just as it was really catching on here in the U. The Internet is a wonderful tool for this genre.
We can meet others who like yaoi in a safe environment and are able to find lots of info. Because it makes me happy in an otherwise awful life. I am a married mother, and currently in a ployamorous relationship as well. I read yaoi because I love sex, and it is one of the few genres in which the beauty of the male body is exploited. Yaoi appeals to different people for different reasons. For example, there are many girls who say they like yaoi for the same reason many guys like lesbian porn— the idea that two is better than one.
Although I find the explainations the article gave rather unsatisfactory, I do think it has to do with gender roles in some way. But there is never one universal reason people like something. Those last three comments should be deleted. They have nothing to do with the topic. I really dislike that series. I do NOT like rape, incest, or pedophile situations of any kind… unless I have to squeeze past it to enjoy the storyline surrounding it.
As for what Jason Thompson said: there are a number of yaoi series in which real life situations surrounding gays are present and accounted for. Everyone is different. I love involved story lines with realistic situations. Others just enjoy the sex. I am a gay male myself with more female friends than I can count who adore Yaoi and everything about it.
To my female friends at least, it appears that Yaoi is as hot as Yuri is to straight males. Personally I like it not because of the sex but because of the levels of relationship that the characters develop in any really good Yaoi story.
I just purchased a new Romance Manga called Menkui today that is a Yaoi story of sorts and in the first three chapters there is not a hint of sex but the relationship between the main characters is developed. I already cannot wait to get the next volume. Personally, I like yaoi. Have since I found it. However not all yaoi is all about sex or even a mushy love thing. The actions and the tension provide the yaoi. Then there is a show like Gravitation where the yaoi is simply incorporated into a great show that could easily stand on its own without the yaoi.
In short, to me at least, yaoi is the spice to the mix. Afterall, eating plain potatoes is well…. Life without yaoi is very bland. So many gender roles and so many walls and regulations. Screw the roles and regulations and let loose, tis much more fun. But in most cases the storyline is really good. I always feel reminded of Romeo and Juliet. Two people loving each other, even though they are not supposed to. But stories that have this Romeo and Juliet theme with a girl and a boy are to me not realistic anymore.
In these times girls can meet whatever boy they want. In contrast to that gay-love is still a taboo. So there are more obstacles for the characters.
The development of the relationship is more complicated. In the same way that men are attracted to fanservice , ecchi and sexy characters in the shonen anime, the girls are attracted by the beauty of the characters of Yaoi Boys Love Gay Anime and also for the great fanservice. Another key factor is the simple fact that it is a taboo. Most of these works show a forbidden and impossible love or a great plot and difficulty.
People are attracted to things that are considered different, secret and forbidden. Some researchers claim that BL boy love is a way of escapism for women trapped in the traditional and limited world of Japan.
Yaoi is a stuffed dish for girls, a harem full of mysterious and secret men. The protagonists of BL works are not usually those failed and shy protagonists of shoujo who are unable to speak to women. Maybe it's a big reason for women. This gender shows that men are not always strong alpha males as the mainstream media reports. It is a pity that many of them do not choose men like that in real life.
Women too put themselves in the place of one of the protagonists or even the 2 protagonists in the work. Sometimes they want to feel aggressive or passive in their real relationships and immerse themselves in this world.
Other Japanese women said they like to read these works on Japanese trains to repel men. We can conclude that women like yaoi just for the history and the fact that it is much more developed than the simple shoujo.
