Which bosses drop titan runestones
Comment by Turpentine This is a continuation of the post originally made for Secrets of the Empire , detailing the per character drops of Titan Runestone for the quest Echoes of the Titans.
Despite the guaranteed drop from Lei Shen, this part of the legendary quest line turned out to take more time than the previous one involving Secrets of the Empire. As before, I noted the drop rate of the Titan Runestone on a per week lockout basis.
Both characters were done entirely in LFR. Character 1 used 6 weeks to collect all 12 Titan Runestones and Character 2 needed 7 weeks to collect all 12 Titan Runestone. Both characters started the Echoes of the Titans quest after changes made to the drop rate of Lei Shen. Thus, each character was guaranteed at least one Titan Runestone per week. Comment by Success! Did raid three first. Won nothing. Slightly panicking i enter the last raid. First boss nothing.
Now brown trousering it for England i start the twin consorts. Tick tick ticking away at them. Titan Runestone. Praying works. I shall be acquiring a lotto ticket later and repeating the secret prayer of the Runestone as i am exhausted and sick of working. I digress. Pretty pleased i made it this far.
I know i am way behind some but this is more for those of you that are just starting the 12 collection. You will get there and we still have at least a few weeks till the new patch comes out. Cheers all sp sp sp. Comment by Magulas I find all of the comments that are complaints about either time spent to collect these items, having to do two collections for the same raid and bad rng about drops mildly amusing.
I think in the long run it was nice of blizz to give out welfare legendaries at this point. But i think you all need to compare this quest chain with those of Shadowmourne, Dragonwrath, and the daggers from Dragon Soul, you will see that the steps for this whole quest line fall in with the previous models for legendary quest lines. What really makes the MoP model different is the power level of the items you get along the way. The same certainly cannot be said for the DS daggers and Shadowmourne.
Comment by ED Titan Runestones will be able to drop from the first 8 bosses of the Siege of Orgrimmar for those that are currently on the quest when the patch goes live. For those wondering, it's from Immerseus up to and including the General Nazgrim. Edited to correct information thanks, Grabovsky! Comment by gr33nzo I've been keeping track of drops on my main, the whole process took 8 weeks. Been also keeping tabs on my alt, it appears that it's unlikely you'll get more than 2 a week by just running Throne of Thunder.
Now that the first 6 bosses of Siege also drops these, it should speed up this process considerably. Good luck, the legendary cloak is well worth it. Week 1: bosses killed: 4, Runestones: 2 Week 2: bosses killed: 6, Runestones: 2 Week 3: bosses killed: 6, Runestones: 1 Week 4: bosses killed: 6, Runestones: 2 Week 5: bosses killed: 6, Runestones: 1 Week 6: bosses killed: 6, Runestones: 1 Week 7: bosses killed: 6, Runestones: 2 Week 8: bosses killed: 3, Runestones: 1.
Comment by Velaya I just signed up to post this: Although you can read here, that during one lockout, you can only get a runestone the first time you kill a boss, I went pinnacle of storms on wednesday, got no stone from Iron-Qon and now I went there again, to help out someone, and received a runestone from Iron-Qon. I did not roll or something. Very mysterical. Comment by Lytha I am on week 7 and have a total of Comment by Aquilani 3 straight weeks of only getting 1 off of lei shen..
Comment by Today was my first day collecting these. Got 2 out of Pinnacle and 1 out of Halls. Comment by I got 4 the first week and after that Hell took over. I was getting 1 from Lei-Shen each and every week for 7 weeks, including this reset. Simply eph you, Bizzard. Comment by can these still drop after killing the bosses per week? Comment by Does anyone know if these will drop from all bosses of ToT in 5. Comment by perculia In 5. Comment by Mahoraba Obviously, this could be just luck but I just started Titan Runestones last week right before patch 5.
I did Flex and got 1 stone from Immerseus and one from Sha of Pride, I thought okay cool this is going good from what I've heared that the drop rate prior to 5. So far, I feel as if the drop rate was increased by a lot with 5. Comment by cstober Maybe I am unlucky but it sure doesnt feel like the drop rate was increased.
I just did the last 6 bosses of ToT and only got a gaurenteed runestone off Lei Shen. At this rate Comment by can confirm, dont know if this is a bug, but i got 2 from siege of orgimmar Flex raid and then did normal the next day and got my last titan runestone! Comment by forkinater It can be a little confusing at first read but just so everyone knows, along with your chances to get titan runestones from tot lfr or normal, you can get the runestones to drop from flex siege of org and then do lfr or normal or heroic SoO but not all 3 modes to get another chance on the same week.
I tried tried explain this as simply as I could because it can seem confusing with all the different lockouts. Hope this clears up any misconceptions about which modes you can do to get your titan runestones.
On a separate note you will still get chance at gear from each SoO mode. Having done this I figured I would be able to go and kill the bosses again for a chance to drop a Titan Runestone. This is not the case, and you may not loot both off of the same boss in one week. Only bosses you had not killed prior to obtaining all 20 and turning in the quest. Hopefully someone finds this helpful! Comment by Baddalaur from what I have witnessed, the drop rate of these have increased dramatically in 5.
I ran Normal SoO last week, received 3 runestones out of 13 bosses. Did Flex Raid last night, with no Titan Runestones dropping out of all 8 available bosses. My guess is this was indeed a bug that was unfortunately fixed, or we have really bad RNG among the 3 of us. Comment by Kuchzz I will leave it here in case if someone was looking the same information as i. Drop from different difficulties is completely the same. Comment by ZeeStorm SoO has definitely made this a lot easier.
I ended by last Secrets piece on the first 2 parts of ToT I only needed 2, so it wasn't difficult to get them in those 2 runs. Maybe it was just my luck, but getting 6 my first week, I'm extremely thankful. I'm getting tired of this questline already I did most of it pre I'll probably try to flex part 3 now that it's open this week to see if I can pick up another one or two, in hopes to guarantee a completion next week. Comment by In my experience these do indeed no longer drop from both flex and LFR.
Imo they should increase the droprate.. Comment by Arcane36 These can drop from any difficulty in SoO as well. I just looted one from the first boss. Comment by bigtiger They must have increased the drop rate of these. YAY ME! Comment by mooshimanx As of 5.
Blizzard's CMs have confirmed you cannot run one boss for one type of Legendary quest item and then run it again for a successive item: It's only 1 attempt per boss per week across all difficulties.
If you already completed Siege of Orgrimmar wings 1 and 2 for Secrets of the Empire they won't drop a Titan Runestone. Comment by forkinater I consider myself very lucky. I started the quest to get the titan runestones right when Siege of Org came out.
Below I will list how many runestones my character got. Week 1: 3 runestones from 6 lfr tot bosses, and 8 normal SoO bosses killed Week 2: 3 runestones from 6 lfr tot bosses, 8 normal SoO bosses and 4 flex bosses killed. Week 3: 3 runestones from 6 lfr tot bosses, 8 normal SoO bosses and 4 flex bosses killed.
Week 4: 2 runestones from 6 lfr tot bosses, 8 normal SoO bosses and 8 flex bosses killed. Week 5: 1 runestone from lfr Iron Qon. Would have been amazing to finish it in 4 weeks but I can't complain. I feel lucky for being able to do it in 5 weeks. Good luck to those that are on the gathering quests for wrathion. Comment by Don't let the time estimates deter you. Note that most of them were computed when you only had the last two wings of ToT to obtain these.
With the addition of SoO you now have many more bosses to obtain these from. Also, a word of advice. If you are nearing the end of the quest, save Lei Shen for last, as you will be tasked to kill him and obtain his heart shortly thereafter.
This could save you another week. Friend says you could for secrets and runestones and its been confirmed for secrets that you can't, but I haven't seen any info on the runestones.
Any info on that would be appreciated. Comment by Siknevl I got to this part late due to the sigil fiasco I had 27 wisdom and 10 power by the end. I have ran every ToT boss since the 5. I only have 11 currently. This week was especially unnerving due to the fact that I ran the SoO bosses as well. Drop rate is terrible.
Don't get too excited for you will be grinding a very long time. Expect nothing and it will be tolerable. Would absolutely love a reply! Comment by killerwolf84 can any one verify of denounce that if you do lfr then flex will the rune stones still drop.
Can anyone confirm this? Comment by smirch Blizzard should really up the drop rate on these and the secrets drops. Most guilds won't touch ToT with a ten foot pole these days and while adding the SoO bosses in there is nice it's still frustrating to have to farm 20 items and then go back and farm another 12, 13 if you count the heart. Comment by If you loot on lfr, whether you get it or not, can you then loot on normal or heroic during the same week?
Comment by Slaktmaskin I just finished the quest. Can you jump back in LFR even if you've allready looted the bosses and have a chance of getting the Runestones? Comment by Briandris I just wanted to say to the people posting that the legendary chain should be nerfed and the legendary quest items secrets, runestones etc should have their drop rates increased that both of these requests have been met by Blizzard.
The quest "A Test of Valor" has been nerfed from vp down to vp. That reduces the time it takes by HALF. Three weeks instead of six weeks. The quest items now drop from many more raid bosses than before as well. There was a time when you had to go to a specific raid for specific quest drops. Now the items drop from almost every raid and boss. So no matter which part of the chain you are on you can do raids that could still provide gear upgrades.
So although the drop rates haven't been increased you have MANY more chances to get your items each week if you are so determined. That's at 47 ilvl's higher than regular mode raiding gear without EVER having to commit to that level of time or performance.
It's not meant to be easy. If you want something this AWESOME please suck it up and put half the work in that the players who've kept up with the chain since the beginning have. Edit: 20 votes: Thank you all. Edit: 50 votes. On another toon I received my last 4 titan runestones. Also, I can confirm that, although you can not go back to the same bosses for the next part of the collection of Sigils, Secrets and Runestones, you CAN go back to loot the heart from Lei Shen after you have looted him that week.
This is similar to what we did with rare drops in the past and will help players that have been experiencing really bad luck. This change is still undergoing testing and is scheduled to take effect next Tuesday with the raid resets.
